   Proposal Description:
   The Uniform and the Neuropathology Data Set from the National Alzheimer?s  Disease Coordinating Centre were used to identify subjects with either frequent NPs  (CERAD 3) or no/sparse NPs (CERAD 0 or 1). Subjects with moderate NPs (CERAD 2)  were excluded in this analysis. Only subjects with multiple Mini-Mental Status  Examination (MMSE) scores obtained over more than one clinical visit were included to  determine variability in cognitive status. Subjects were classified as having declining  MMSE scores (decMMSE) if the standard deviation from their individual average  MMSE score was #8805 2, and stable (staMMSE) if <2. Declining scores were almost the  only cause of variability. The Neuropsychiatric Inventory Questionnaire (NPI-Q) was  used to determine the presence of NBs in the last month prior to a clinical visit presence  at any visit was considered positive.
